FRIDAY FAVS V.3
Happy Fri-YAY friends! We made it to the holiday weekend and we are ready for Easter over in the Rogers house! I hope that you all have had a great week and are going to enjoy your hopefully long weekend too! I am working and playing but in the best ways and I can’t wait!
Today I am linking up with 2 of my favorite lifestyle blogs, Momfessionals and A Little Bit of Everything for Friday Favorites! I plan to do this weekly link up as a recap of the good things happening throughout the week in our world and I am excited to have you join me today!
Anyways, let’s get started!
First up, tomorrow I am so excited because I will be attending my second vendor event (technically my 5th market since the first one was 4 days) here in my town and I cannot wait. I love these vendor events for Shop Rooted and Free because I can connect with women in my community and with other small business owners. My dream is to one day have a brick and mortar store and these events help get me one step closer. My hope is to do 2-3 a month locally and so I am excited for another round tomorrow. If you live locally to Bradenton/Sarasota I would love to invite you to stop by!
Another favorite was from last weekend! Our girls competed in their first cheer competition of the Spring season and killed it! They earned 1st place (they are on the same squad thankfully) and we were all over the moon.
Their squad has worked so hard and last week, 3 of their girls (siblings) got COVID and couldn’t come to practices or the competition. They had to change their entire routine 3 practices before competition so we were all pumped when they won 1st! Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much except for them to have fun when they had to change everything so this was such an exciting win. I am so proud at how hard they worked together to overcome such a big change.
Speaking of last weekend, we had friends in town so we rented a boat and hit the water for the day. It was chiller than usual for an April day but we still had a blast and it was so nice to get some vitamin sea!
I have been really focused on my eating during the week so that I can enjoy the fun weekends without any guilt and these 2 have been my go to for lunch. A charcuterie plate with my new favorite protein (1 avocado, 2 hard boiled eggs, everything but the bagel seasoning and hot sauce) and a protein shake (shared the recipe here) have been so good lately.
Yesterday on my boutique IG page, I shared ideas on how to style sneakers a few different ways. The sneakers trend is definitely my favorite and I love how they can take any outfit and put a different spin on it. It has been years and I am still loving wearing dresses with sneakers!
This dress is old from Target and the shoes are old from DSW but just wanted to share because I love shopping my own closet and mixing different style to bring fresh looks to items. I love shopping but sometimes, shopping your own closet is just what you need especially when you budget doesn’t allow for new items!
Last but definitely not least is this quick picture that Paisley took of me the other day.
I was outside working, reorganizing myself and getting ready for market this weekend and I just had such an emotional moment about where I am today and where I was a year ago.
A year ago I was burnt out, sick, sad and just didn’t see another way besides working like crazy and missing out on the life I actually wanted. I was working way too much, not dealing with my grief and today, after a year of self care, grief counseling and healing…I am living the life I always dreamed of and chasing those dreams on my heart.
It is amazing how much can change in a year if you let it! 💗
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Thanks for dropping by my blog, see ya next week!
