RECENT READS

Hey Hey friends, happy Tuesday!

I don’t know about you but I feel like already, this week is flying by! I think it is because my kids are on Spring Break starting on Friday and I feel the pressure to catch up on as much work as I can before they are off. I will still be working next week but will definitely be taking it slower so that I can enjoy some fun with them too! Anyways, my time is going fast on focused work time this week but today I wanted to share my recent reads with you guys.

Now, I love to read…I used to be part of a book club and we were even a Harper Collins Book Club of the Year one year! It was such a fun experience and I used to read between 50-60 books a year but I have definitely slowed down the last few years. I wish I could read more but with everyones schedules and other commitments probably average about half of that now. At the end of the day, reading for me is fun and relaxing so I try to keep the pressure off trying to read a certain amount every year anymore and just enjoy it when I can squeeze it in.

Anyways, I thought it would be fun to share my reads here every few months (probably once a quarter) and would love to hear from you what I should read too! I love thrillers and romance novels so I would say Colleen Hoover and Christina Lauren are my fav authors so you will see a lot of that here. I also love to read for self development so that will be on here as well! 📚 Hopefully you can find a new book to read and if there is something you think should bump to the top of my list…please let me know in the comments below.

Alright, without further ado, here are the books I have read so far in 2022….

  1. A Lake House Holiday - The cutest holiday book to read. I read this in TN on vacy and it was the perfect Hallmark-ish book to curl up by the fire with. If you like cheesy Hallmark movies, add this one to your list for next Christmas!

  2. Confess - I am slowly working my way through all of CoHo’s books…taking my time because I don’t want them to end! She is the best of the best with thrillers and this was another one she knocked out of the park.

  3. Maid - I read this after watching the Netflix series. I enjoyed the show but I will be honest and say that I didn’t love the book. The 2 are closely related but not that exact same and I just enjoyed the show more than the book which is usually the opposite for me.

  4. Boss Up - I read this with my Founded and Funded girls together. It was a great leadership development book for women, especially moms. There wasn’t anything earth shattering in it but it was a great reminder of our ability as women and gave great tools to chase your dreams.

  5. Never Never - I am currently reading this serious (3 books total) and I have to be honest, it is hit and miss. I can tell the parts that CoHo has written and the parts that Tarryn Fisher has written. Tarryn isn’t my favorite thriller reader so I am struggling through to be honest. It is moving way slow for me.

  6. Parenting - I am reading this with my small group at church and it is hard hitting. I am so glad I am reading this in a group setting and not alone, I think that I would be way too hard on myself if I read it alone. This is all about raising your children God’s way and how your parenting style should reflect your faith in the Lord. There are many hard truths that I am facing and while it isn’t an easy read its been very convicting!

Alright friends, that is what I have now. What are you currently reading?

Quick note….if you want to follow me on Good Reads I am under Kate Rogers and would love to have you join me there!
