Quick Weekend Recap

Happy Monday friends!

I hope everyone had a great Easter and is ready for the week ahead. We had a slow, relaxing weekend that was much needed. Last week was so busy and by the time that the weekend came we were all ready for the slow pace. And I was at the top of that list, not going to lie.

On Friday we kicked off the 3 day weekend with an Easter egg hunt with friends and we had the best time. These are the littles and some of the big kids put everything out for them and watched from the side!

I love that my small group is intentional about getting kids and families together and an Easter egg hunt was the perfect excuse to get everyone together. This is probably half the kids we have between our small group and they range from ages 1-19 which I love. We are all in different parents stages and I love that we get to support each other and learn from each other even when we aren’t in the same stage.

After our fun with friends, the girls spent time with their Grandpa (Joe and Cam were at work) and I had an Easter pop up for Shop Rooted and Free so the weekend kicked off doing what I love which some other pretty incredible vendors.

I came home and crashed…that Florida sun about did me in on Friday but we went back out for more and spent the day on Anna Maria Island enjoying the salty hair and sandy toes!

I love that even though these girls are getting older, they still act like kids on the beach! I know that my time keeping them little is limited and I am doing everything in my power to keep them kids β€” they are plenty of time for the world to make them grow up so when I see them playing in the sand I am reminded that my job is to protect them and keep them little for as long as I can!

After the beach we grabbed ice cream and came home to rest. We were sunburnt even with sunscreen so we washed off and settled in for a night at home. Joe and I ran to the grocery store and then we were all home watching the Yankee game with early bedtimes.

One Sunday (Easter) we woke up to baskets, headed to church and celebrated our risen Savior! The boys went fishing and the girls and I took naps! We had planned a pool afternoon but after getting sunburnt on Saturday we decided to stay in.

It was a quiet and low-key weekend and just what we all needed. An incredible reminder that time spent together is most important and that you don’t need big things to make it a great weekend!

That’s all I have for now friends, tomorrow I am back with some Easter ideas for big kids that you can save for next year!
