QUEEN ELIZABETH

I never thought I would be writing a blog post about Queen Elizabeth, but here were are. On the day of her funeral, with the whole world mourning.

Since I was a little girl I have loved the royal family. I can’t quite put my finger on why, but I love them. I remember crying when Princess Diana was killed, I have watched and rewatched Will/Kate and Harry/Meghan’s weddings. Followed royal fashion accounts and waited with the world to see pictures of the babies being born. Something about the tradition, the respect, the grander, it all just captivates me so much. So watching the Queen’s funeral and seeing the deep love that so many have for her, it just fills me with lots of emotions.

We also had Charlotte Gambill preach at our church yesterday and at the end she reference the Queen and why so many love her. She spoke of her life of service and her deep devotion to her faith and it got me thinking about the legacy that I want to leave and the life I want to live. When I die I want others to know how much I cared, I want them to know that served the best to my ability and that God, my family and respect were at the forefront of all I did.

Over the last few days I have been on a deep dive into the Queen’s work and words and wanted to share a few that stood out to me and struck me most. I pray today and in the days/years ahead that I would continue to marinate and be inspired by her work and legacy!
