Mother’s Day Weekend

Happy Monday friends!

We have a busy week ahead but I wanted to make sure that I posted on the blog this week as well since that seems to be the thing that takes a back seat when life gets a little nuts around here.

So, what better way to start the week than to recap our Mother’s Day weekend.

Truthfully, Mother’s Day is a hard holiday for me. I hold both grief and joy in my hands as I try to celebrate and even though my husband and kids make it special year after year, it doesn’t take the pain away that I feel as a daughter and granddaughter. For those new around here, my mom and I have a very strained relationship, we haven’t spoken since 2015 (which was my choice and one I firmly believe was the best decision) and I lost my Grandma in 2020 which still pains me as much as the day that I lost her.

My weekend was filled with a lot of love and laughter but also a lot of silent tears and sadness. If you too hold both joy and sorrow for this weekend know that you aren’t alone and that I was praying for you so much all weekend long.

Okay, let’s jump in….

On Friday I worked a pop up in Siesta Key and it was a great way to start my weekend. I love in person connections with my customers and much prefer being at pop ups than being behind a computer so it was a lot of fun. I was exhausted when I got home and binged on some IG stories and came across those 2 quotes above that stuck with me all weekend.

Once I showered and settled into our Friday night we chilled out (Cam and Savannah both had plans so it was just Joe, Paisley and I) and I prepped my sourdough which I spent Saturday morning making. I love the process of making sourdough so much and it was a great relaxing start to my day.

After I baked, we got ready for the day because we had a fun one planned. Cam had planned with his girlfriend but myself, Joe and the girls headed to Tampa to pick up my Mother’s Day present (they always get me a new pair of Golden Goose) and I had ordered a few to try on! I can’t wait to show ya’ll what I picked this year.

After Tampa, we drove down to St Pete to go to the Yankees game! I am a huge Yanks fan and when I found out they were coming to town for this weekend I was begging to go. Thankfully Joe loves going to live games even though he doesn’t care about teams as much and the girls love it too!

We found great seats on Stub Hub and it was so fun to be up close and in the action. I grabbed some great photos and even though we lost on Saturday (they won the other 2 games in town of course) we had the best time.

We stopped at Publix on our way home to grab stuff for Sunday and I decided to drown my losing sorrows in Diet Coke. Lol.

On Sunday, we went to early church since we had plans for the day. No one was happy about being up so early for an 8:00 AM service (we usually go to 10:00 AM) but an empty photo booth and no traffic was a win!

We went to the early service because we had boat plans for the day. We came home, changed and headed out for the day. I took a nap, read a little, swam, spent much needed time as a family and had the best day! I love being their mom so much.

The water is finally warming up and turning the most beautiful colors after a cold for us winter! The smell of salty air and sunscreen was heaven and being in the sun as a family is my favorite!

We had the best weekend and I hope you all did as well!
