Hollywood Studios Recap

Hi friends, happy Tuesday!

If you follow me Instagram, then you know that we recently became Disney Annual Pass Holders after being on the fence about getting them over the last 3 years. A couple weekends ago we took the girls for the weekend to celebrate their birthdays (Paisley turned 11 on April 3rd and Savannah turns 13 on May 25th) — they picked Magic Kingdom (which I recapped here) and Hollywood Studios which I thought I would recap today!

Last weekend Joe and I went to Epcot to celebrate our 12 year wedding anniversary and well, we will have to recap when we take the girls because we took about 4 pictures total the whole weekend, ha! I never even thought to take pictures but when we have the girls, I am snapping away constantly.

Anyways, let’s jump into our day in Hollywood Studios….

I love Hollywood Blvd which is the street you are on as soon as you enter the park. I love the hustle and bustle of the Blvd and the palm trees lining the streets. After having been to Hollywood, CA, I think they did a really great job of recreating this!

The girls wanted to wear Toy Story ears and I grabbed Cars ear off Amazon (linked through LTK here). Cam used to be obsessed with Cars when he was little so I knew I had to go with that theme when Joe bought me this purse recently. The checkered strap and bow were the cutest together.

Savannah is a thrill seeker and talked Paisley and I into Tower of Terror. Spoiler alert, we freaking hated it. LOL. I mean I guess as a ride it is great, Savannah loved it but I hate dropped and Paisley isn’t a fan of thriller rides so we were terrified the entire time. Paisley kept yelling “I want to go home” on the ride and I grabbed the stranger next to me in a death grip so, safe to say we better go with friends and let Savannah get her fill.

Joe skipped this ride and caught up on emails at the cafe! He used to climb cell phone towers when he was younger in Telecom and has actually seen people fall off towers and his PTSD caused a huge pass on this ride.

Tower of Terror is near the Cars set up so we walked over to take photos and then made our way to Rockin Roller Coaster but sadly it was closed as they update it. We had done the Cars show before so we skipped it but if you have little kids, it is really cute and worth doing!

We were headed over to Toy Story Land and Slinky dog when we ran into Doc McStuffins which the girls adored when they were little. I was singing so loud and Savannah was mortified but Paisley wanted a photo.

Now, if you know Paisley you know she does not do characters. Ever Santa photo is of her crying or I am in it too and she is holding on for dear life. She doesn’t do characters literally anywhere and Disney at 11 I suppose was no exception. She talked Joe into going with her and she progressed a little closer for a photo and we were cracking up!

We made our way to Toy Story Land which we love. To me this and Star Wars are the must do areas of the park. We waited 2 hours for Slinky Dog which was hot and long but we made the best of it and enjoyed the ride of course.

We knocked off a couple more rides and some snacks in the area and then headed towards Star Wars.

We grabbed lunch, rode a few rides (the biggest one was broken down of course, it literally happens every time we go) and I didn’t grab many pictures but as we were walking Storm Troopers came out and this happened. We were just standing there watching them and one snuck behind Savannah and we caught her reaction when she realized and it was gold!

Since we were at Hollywood Studios on Sunday and we wanted to get back home at a decent time to get ready for work and school the next day we gave the girls an hour warning and they chose meeting Olaf and watching the Indiana Jones show.

Paisley only went up because Savannah was there and it took her the entire time to warm up. Savannah basically quizzed him the whole time on Frozen trivia and thankfully for whoever was in there, Olaf doesn’t talk, lol.

We just scratched the surface of what this park has to offer and we are excited to return and try some rides we haven’t done yet! If you have been, please tell us what your favorite rides are in the comments below so we can make sure we hit them up next time! The girls and I plan to go every other week during the summer during the week and we have some family times scheduled too! Basically, we are in our Disney Era and loving it!
