Friday Favorites (7.7.23)

I don’t know about anyone else, but this week has felt so off with the 4th of July being on Tuesday. My days have been all out of whack and everyday feels like a Monday so I am happy to see a Friday here and I am ready for a fun weekend ahead.

We are headed to the Luke Combs/Lainey Wilson concert tonight and then this weekend the girls are going to spend time with their Grandparents so Joe and I are going to have a chill weekend just the two of us.

Before we get started on a fun weekend ahead, today is another edition of Friday Favorites linking up with Erika and Andrea!

This fun link up is one of my favs to do each week so, let’s dive in to another summer edition and see what we have been up to the past week that we have been loving…

First up, homemade oatmeal cream pies. I have been itching to get back into the kitchen (after a very busy season of super easy meals and to go food) so I started watching Joanna Gaines and the Magnolia Channel with her cooking show. Anytime I need to feel inspired to start cooking again (because, its not my favorite but I do go through seasons of really enjoying it) I watch cooking shows, lol.

Anyways, she made these and I knew I wanted to try too. To get me back into the kitchen I ordered her new cookbook Magnolia Table and Kristin Cavalleri’s new cookbook Truly Simple and to my surprise they both had a recipe in them for oatmeal cream pies!

I made them on Sunday and I got a ton of ohhh’s and ahhh’s from my family so I would say they are a definite favorite!

Speaking of kitchen, I have been wanting to try my own sourdough bread from scratch for years and have always been too intimidated to try. I have been seeing it all over Instagram again and so I decided there was no better time than now to give it a try. We are one week in and things are looking good — it’s bubbling and growing but its definitely trial and error and I am learning so much about bread, flour, fermentation, environments, etc.

In a season where I am trying to enjoy the middle parts of life, this feels like a sweet project to focus on and I am really enjoying it.

This week a favorite of mine has been the new arrivals at Shop Rooted and Free.

If you are new here, I own an online lifestyle boutique and new arrival weeks are my fav!

We launched a fun country collection with blingly bandana’s and fun graphics along with a new shop for a cause graphic

Their favorite is when mom is fun and lets them dye their hair for 3-5 washes! 😂

It’s our summer tradition and they love and it really is so fun!

Every week our favorite is being out on the water especially since it has been 100* here in Florida! This cute outfit I wore over my bathing suit was my favorite…fits my cute and comfortable theme very easily!

Alright friends, we are off for a weekend of fun see you back here on Monday!
