What’s Up Wednesday (Jan 2023)
It’s hump day friends! Today I am linking up with Sheaffer and Shay for another edition of What’s Up Wednesday!
Let’s just jump right in!
1: WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:
Recently, I was told that in addition to gluten and dairy I am allergic and/or highly sensitive to corn, eggs, yeast and chocolate. 😵💫 So, eating around here has been fun, I mean crazy. Lol.
To accommodate all of my allergies, we are eating Paleo minus eggs. The first was really hard but it has gotten easier and, our weekly grocery bill has actually gone down because I am not buying as many snacks. I still buy snacks for the kids of course but stick with stuff that I am not tempted to eat because I have no self control in snacks. 😂
One thing I have been loving has been overnight oats for breakfast. I literally cannot get enough. Last week I made blueberry oats and this week, I made strawberry. I have been making them in a big batch and eating all week.
3: WHAT I’M LOVING:
This is really random, but I am obsessed with this song by Lainey Wilson. I listen to it on repeat and sing it in my head constantly. Pretty sure my family is sick of it but I cannot get enough.
Maybe it is the Nashville still on my heart and her voice is just so Nashville to me but regardless, I love it.
4: WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:
Work.
School.
Repeat.
We are back in the swing of life and school and work is busy! We were getting a little overwhelmed with homework (the girls have a lot of homework and Savannah has a huge science fair project she is working on) so we started a new rhythm and decided to start going for walks after school for 20-30 minutes before we start homework. It has been a game changer for all 3 of us.
5: WHAT I’M DREADING:
Eh, nothing really. Life is busy and can feel chaotic some days but I am not really dreading anything at the moment thankfully.
6: WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
Shop Rooted and Free turns one next week!!! All week on IG I will be doing fun giveaways and discounts to celebrate.
If you don’t already, I would love to invite you to follow my boutique and join in on the fun! Were giving away Stanley cup, Starbucks and we’ve got some great discounts and a free gift with purchase (while supplies last).
7: WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:
Joe and I are headed to California next week for 5 days. We haven’t taken a solo trip together since 2021 so we are well overdue (we try to do one every year but 2022 got away from us). We are going for a wedding on Friday night and decided to arrive early and stay through the weekend to have some much needed time together without the distraction of the kids.
We’re headed to LA and have never been so if you have any recs, please send them my way!
8: WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:
Currently watching Ginny and Georgia but I haven’t had a lot of time to watch TV so its a slow go at season 2. Now that football is winding down I should have some extra time since I have been sucked into the NFL season. Lol.
I am currently reading Without Merit by Colleen Hoover. But ya’ll, I have been struggling to read the last year and half. I used to read triple the amount I do now and I can’t figure out why. My attention span seems lower and it just takes me forever. I am thinking its my health issues coupled with starting a business but ugh, I love reading and hate that I can’t get into it lately.
9: WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:
Right now as I write this, I am listening to the girls sing and shower. I swear they are already at the age they “need” music to shower and I just can’t even understand where my babies went.
10: WHAT I’M WEARING:
Keeping it casual and easy around here is the name of the game. I work from home and when I do pop ups it involves way more physical activity than you think (I set up the tent, tables, everything alone and tear down…when you add in loading and unloading the card…I need stuff I can move in).
Here are some easy quick outfits I have been loving lately….
11: WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:
I have 2 pop ups on Saturday (one market and one in home party). Joe is going to help Savannah finish up her science fair project and then on Sunday, church and getting ready to head out of town. So, a busy weekend of working and errands/to-do’s but sometimes that has to happen!
I am sure we will sneak a brunch in Sunday and have a little fun but its a checklist weekend!
12: WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
California next week is technically next month so I will go with that! 😀
13: FAVORITE AMAZON PURCHASE THIS MONTH:
Since we are moving in April/May depending on when the house is ready I haven’t been shopping a lot in general and have instead been trying to declutter. The less we have, the less we have to move is my mentality and I only want to bring things to the new house that we love and need. So, my Amazon has been mostly stuff for work and boring stuff like Pepcid and and Dry Shampoo, lol.
But, I did order these meal prep containers and I love them. Now that my diet is super strict, I need to pack all my food for pop ups (instead of just ordering something like I normally do) and these have worked great. They are reusable and the perfect size. I ordered Joe and Cam the navy color for work lunches too.
