SPRING BREAK SNAPS
Hey friends! We are half way through our first week back at school following Spring Break and we are all feeling it. I know it sounds weird but Spring Break gave us a glimpse of summer and the slower pace to just be without rushing and running from one thing to the next and it was….glorious! We love being busy and being involved in things at school and in extra-circulars but I would be laying if I didn’t say that once we hit Spring Break, we are all done. We are tired. We are ready for lazy mornings and pool days and trips to the beach and just a break from the hustle and bustle of homework, rushing out the door, eating late and all that. But also…by August we are bored and ready for the chaos to start so….welcome to my brain. LOL.
Anyways, I thought even if just for my own records, I should recap Spring Break 2022. Since we just moved back to Florida last summer we decided to skip a Spring Break trip and stay home and enjoy that we live where people vacation! 😂 That is definitely the perk of living in Florida and we soaked it up!
Spring Break started on a Friday so we talked Joe into taking a half day and kicked off the break on the beach. We love Lido Key and were lucky enough to find parking and a nice spot even though we went in the afternoon. It was the perfect way to kick off the break!
On Saturday we had cheer and it poured so we crammed inside our football building so we could still practice. We also went to a winery with friends once the weather cleared up and I am only now just realizing that I didn’t take a single photo.
Sunday, we hit up church and then had a relaxing day at home. Joe went fishing with Oakley but the girls and I stayed home while I worked a little and they relaxed.
Gosh, okay I must be better about photo’s because doing this post I see that I only took pictures at the beach and pool, Lol. I want to say it was because we were having all the fun and soaking in all the memories and even though that is true, I literally just forgot too! 🤪
Anyways, on Monday the girls slept in and I worked while they did but then we spent the afternoon with friends at the park having lunch and playing. It was awesome to break out of the house and hang with friends and enjoy the sunshine.
On Tuesday, it was the same…the girls slept in (lots of late nights for them LOL) and I worked then we hit up the pool and ice cream with friends before we headed to cheer for the evening! Poor Paisley ended up getting a rash from her bathing suit top so she ended up swimming in her sisters shirt and her bottoms since hers became see through when wet. Never a dull moment.
On Wednesday the girls declared it a pajama day because I told them I needed to stay home for the day to work and prep for my pop up shop. They were so great about helping me and spent the day doing a bunch of nothing which they loved. It also rained off and on so it was the perfect day to stay home. Oakley was also very happy to have them home for the day!
On Thursday, the girls slept in while I worked and then they went to a friends house for the afternoon for a playdate. It was so nice for them to be busy and having fun while I kept working.
Friday came and I used the morning to run errands and then we hit the beach again! This time we went to Anna Maria Island which is one of our favs and we spent the afternoon and evening there soaking up the sun, waves and ordering dinner to eat on the beach!
I worked all weekend at my pop up but they had cheer and church and came to hang with me in the afternoons!
Spring Break 2022 was the perfect mix of fun, sun, work and rest! I will look back on this week of fond memories spent with my girls (Joe and Cam worked all Spring Break) and having a balance between family and work!
What did you do on Spring Break? I would love to hear!
