Spicy Pineapple Margarita
Happy Monday friends!
I took most of last week off from the blogging world while Joe and I made out way to California and spent 5 amazing days in LA. We went to celebrate our friend from New Jersey getting married on Friday and since its such a long flight and we haven’t been to LA before, we extended our trip and were gone Wed-Sun.
Later this week I will recap the whole trip (we had a jammed back long weekend) but today, I wanted to share with you my new favorite cocktail. I ordered it almost every time we had lunch or dinner in LA because it is delicious and light. I first had one on our trip to Nashville and decided to try to make them at home.
After searching a bunch of recipes, we kind mixed and matched a few and came up with a recipe that both Joe and I enjoyed! Let me know if you try it.
What You’ll Need:
6 chunks fresh pineapple chunks
2-3 fresh jalapeno slices (depending on how spicy you want it)
tiny pinch sea salt
4 oz. Tequila (we used 818)
2 oz. pineapple juice
2 oz. fresh lime juice
1 oz. Triple Sec
1 tsp. agave syrup
A small jar of Tajin
How To Make:
Muddle the fresh pineapple chunks, jalapeno slices, and a pinch of salt in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. You want the ingredients to break down well, so muddle it for a few minutes.
Mix the tequila, pineapple juice, lime juice, triple sec, and agave syrup.
Fill the shaker with ice and shake well.
Run a pineapple chunk along the rim of your glass and pour some Tajin in a small bowl. Dip the top of your glass in the Tajin and shake off any excess.
Pour the drink mixture in the glass and garnish with a lime, pineapple and jalapeno if desired. Sprinkle some Tajin in the glass.
Enjoy!!
