Meal Plan Monday (7.29.24)

Happy Monday friends!

I am sharing another Meal Planning Monday with you today and this one, is probably as simple of a meal plan as you can get! Cheer starts for the girls this week and cheer in August is Monday-Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM which means, dinners in August must be simple and quick since we aren’t home for much of the evening and no one is trying to make dinner a complicated dinner that late!

One of the best “hacks” I have found for those busy sports weeknights is not just keeping meals simple but I have learned to make bigger meals a few times a week so we can have leftovers easily the next night. It helps to keep nights easier and dishes down plus, it really does save money. Since it is our first week back, we are extra simple here as we get back into the groove.

You will also notice if you look at my meal planning each week that usually on Saturday’s we will have a feed yourself day. I do this because typically we are at Disney or on the boat or here soon we will be at cheer on Saturday and well, usually our meals are all over the place — we we snacking, grabbing a random lunch out that is more food than we eat in one meal and then by the time dinner rolls around, no one is hungry. Any other families like this?

I have learned that I can skip meal planning on Saturday’s and we all just kind of do our own thing when we are hungry. Sometimes it will be eating whatever is leftover from lunch, sometimes a sandwich, the girls like eating ramen and sometimes, it’s a girl dinner and we are eating chips and salsa, lol. But whatever it is, sometimes I think this is my kids favorite day of the week for dinner!

What are you eating this week? I would love some new ideas if you have made something quick and delicious lately, leave it in the comments!
