MAGIC KINGDOM

Happy Wednesday friends!

I am back today with a recap of Paisley’s 9th birthday! On Sunday, April 3rd our sweet baby of the family turned 9 and we decided to skip a party this year and go to Disney instead. We haven’t been to WDW since Paisley was 2 so she doesn’t remember the trip which made her even more excited to go!

We woke up super early, sang happy birthday over donuts, opened presents and then hit the road. We live about 2 hours from Disney so it is easy to make a day trip over it (we did end up grabbing a hotel for the night to make it easier but we totally could have driven home if we needed to). Anyways, we got to the park when they opened and stay through fireworks so thats a long 12 hour day at MK…we were exhausted by the end but had the best day celebrating our girl!

It was definitely different going to Disney during a pandemic. The mask mandates are thankfully lifted but there weren’t character photos and princess meet and greets like we are used to but it ended up giving us lots of times for rides and because Disney is still keeping things under capacity the ride wait weren’t bad at all. The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Splash Mountain were both about an 80 minute wait for us and everything else was about 35 minutes. We didn’t do any fast passes but we were able to ride about a dozen rides which is probably the most we’ve ever gotten to since usually we spend time meeting characters too!

Favorite Rides for everyone:

Paisley - Mine Train rollercoaster

Savannah - Splash Mountain

Kate - Pirates of the Caribbean

Joe - ….just along for them all to make everyone happy 😂

Anyone else have a husband who doesn’t love Disney and all the rides? He was a good sport throughout the day to celebrate Paisley but he would 100% skip Disney if he could, LOL.

As we were walking around eating ice cream we spotted Belle in front of her castle and Paisley was over the moon. I feel like her smile says it all…she could not stop waving and smiling and barely turned around for a photo she was so excited to see her, even from afar!

It is so fun how Disney can bring them right back to the princess stage when going on she kept saying, I know they aren’t real. One happy birthday wish from Belle and she was princess obsessed again.

Gosh, I can’t believe my baby is 9 years old!

We had the best day celebrating and letting her drive the ship as we made our way around Magic Kingdom!

Happy Birthday Paisley Hope, we love you so very much!
