KUWK - Football

Happy Tuesday friends!

Life post hurricane is finally starting to feel a little easier/normal for me this week so I am excited to be back to blogging on a more consistent basis. It is crazy how quickly things can get derailed but when I take a step back, I am really proud of how I was able to let go of things that didn’t necessarily need to happen and just focus on our families mental/emotional health and what had to be done the last 2 weeks.

Last Friday I had a moment where I was literally just over everything. I mean, I guess it was more than a moment…the whole day I was just over it all. The kids didn’t have school since it was a record day for us so after I worked in the morning, the girls and I met Joe for lunch, went to the mall and Target and just had a fun girls afternoon. Then, I realized that I needed more of that kind of fun day in my life to help me get out of my funk so on Friday night, I bought tickets to go see my Bucs play at home.

This is when my enneagram 7 comes out…I am a 1 and in stress I go to a 7…I just want to have fun and run from my emotions sometimes 😂 Thankfully Joe was completely on board so Cam watched his sister for us and we had a date day at a place that brings me a lot of joy, Raymond James Stadium.

I have always loved sports. My Grandma was a huge sports fan (she had season tickets to the Washington Redskins) and so I grew up with it on the TV every Sunday. I love baseball too and have been a Yankees fan since middle school. I grew up in Florida but, when all your friends are New Yorkers, you adopt their team and run with it! 😀 I ran hard and love my Yanks! Anyways, back to football…

When I was 15 years old I was watching football with my Grandma and Uncle and they told me if I was going to watch I had to pick a team. They thought I would join them and become a Washington fan but, I like going against the grain and picking my own team so I asked who was playing and it happened to be the Bucs game. Jon Gruden was the coach and he was super passionate and yelling at the team which I totally relate to 😂 so I said, they are my team. Ha! My Uncle then mentioned that the Yankees Spring Training facility is across the street from RJS and I was sold even more.

Super funny to look back on randomly picking a team this way but here I am, 20 years later and it’s still a Bucs life for me! 🏴‍☠️ Even though for about 15 years it was super painful to be a Bucs fan…I am for life and I am riding this TB12 wave for everything he gives us!

Now Joe, could literally care less. He roots for my teams when we are there and roots for Cam’s teams when not. He is all over the place but I decked him out in Bucs gear! Funny when people would chat with him about players, etc at the game and he had no clue…just here for his wife!

I cannot sit still during a football game. I need space so I was thrilled when the seat next to me was empty. I need to stand, I need to lean, sit, jump, yell, all of it. I need space! Lol.

Anyone else feel like your favorite players can hear you. I swear I yell as if they know I am talking right to them. Joe snapped this picture mid talk and while not flattering, it is a true representation of me during a game. Whether I am there in person or at home, I am talking and moving. Always.

When I randomly bought these tickets off Stub Hub Friday night I didn’t pay attention to where they were. I just knew I wanted to be close to the field and on the home side. What a surprise when we got there and realized we were right at the tunnel where the players run out of.

Hey, TB12! He is lucky I didn’t drop my phone on him screaming and shaking of surprise and excitement!

Joe and I had the best day and it was exactly what I needed.

I get into such a rut when I just work, do carline and homework, all the mom stuff, cheer, everyday life…it literally just bogs me down after a while. It was a good reminder that I need to get ahead of it and schedule these days more often. So yep, I am already looking for other tickets. 😂

And, we may have inquired about season tickets…haha!
