7 Daily Habits for 2024
Hi friends! We are bracing for a crazy storm this afternoon as I know most of the country is weather it is rain, wind or snow and while I look out the window and see the palm trees basically sideways because of the wind I can’t help but wish it were snow and not rain we were getting but, that has nothing to do with today’s post so I digress, LOL!
Today is the girls first day back to school and I was excited to jump right into my to do list. Anyone else? Over the winter break while I slowed down a ton, I did spend quite a bit of time getting myself organized for the new year both personally and professionally. I use Airtable to organize just about everything in my life (if you don’t know Airtable, its a free project management took that I used to use at work in ministry that I know use to organize everything in my life and business) and one of the projects I made for myself was a daily, weekly and monthly to-do checklist.
Which I know this sounds a little crazy but, it helps to keep me organized and get everything done each week that I need to get done. Professionally, it keeps me on track and truthfully, because of these rhythms I didn’t have to do end of the year tasks that took me days because I stayed on top of it throughout the year. Personally, it helps me stay on top of my goals and make sure my daily habits are in line with where I want to be and do which brings me to today’s post.
As I was working through my daily habits this morning I thought, let me share these in hopes that someone else trying to get into better daily habits and rhythms would find them helpful so here you go…
7 Daily Habits for 2024 (and beyond!)
Wake up before the kids — for me this means 5:00 am (or so since the kids get up at 6:00 am)
Move my body — exercise comes in all forms and I don’t want to hold myself to x,y,z workout, I just want to be consistent with getting in movement whether that is a walk, yoga, Peloton, etc.
Drink 120 oz of water — this is simple as I feel better when I drink more water!
Get dressed everyday — working from home and for myself it is easy to just be in loungewear or workout clothes everyday but truthfully, I feel better when I am dressed and ready
Quiet Time — my gratitude journal, devotional and Bible study is how I want to spend my mornings
Reading — I used to read 60+ books a year and during 2020 I got out of the habit that I want to reestablish so I am challenging myself to at least 10 pages of a fictional book everyday
Take my supplements/medicine — the name of the game for me here is to be consistent, I have my pill box organized and I am ready to be on top of my game here and not just hoping I remember!
Alright friends, I want to know…what resonated with you? What habits are you taking into 2024?
